ABOUT US
We are a coalition of non-profit organizations who work for the wellbeing of American families. We are passionate about protecting children – our own, and all those across America. While many hands have made the work of this coalition, our leading national and state partners are listed below.

“Imagine an America where protecting every child from the very beginning of his or her life is our first priority, and is reflected in both law and culture. I can. And I am hopeful that we will get there by uniting around the fundamental responsibility of each generation to create a world where children flourish in mind, body, and spirit. Protecting children also means protecting their parents’ rights to raise them without being unjustly threatened by intrusive government or malign cultural influences. That is why I am signing the Promise to America’s Children on behalf of the Heritage Foundation. I urge everyone who believes that America’s tomorrow depends on what our children experience today to join me in signing the Promise.”

“America’s children are increasingly living under a cloud of broken promises. Kids can no longer be kids. Political ideologies and explicit content threaten every aspect of children’s development—their minds, bodies, and even their relationships. Faceless government bureaucrats claim they should be more involved in children’s intimate decisions than their parents. As the father to three girls, I know that children are our most precious gifts and that they deserve to be protected. And as a former state lawmaker, I know that doing that requires good laws. That’s why I’m proud to support the Promise for America’s Children on behalf of Family Policy Alliance. For those who agree and say, “No more. Let kids be kids,” we hope you’ll sign the Promise with us.”

“Policies that undermine the vital role of parents in their children’s lives or ignore biological reality in order to advance an ideology ultimately harm children. Unfortunately, we’ve seen a growing number of these policies being pushed in states and localities, in Congress with the introduction of the Equality Act, and now with actions taken by the Biden administration. At Alliance Defending Freedom, we are committed to advocating for the safety, privacy, and protection of children and the right of parents to direct the education, health care, and upbringing of their children. That’s what The Promise to America’s Children is all about and I encourage others to take this important stand with us.”
Michael P. Farris, President and CEO, Alliance Defending Freedom

WHY DID WE COME TOGETHER?
We believe that our children are among our most precious gifts, and that they deserve to be protected, not used. But after years of working in the public policy space, we began to see a disturbing and undeniable trend: some in our culture, and even our government, want to use our children as political pawns to advance a sexual agenda.
Not only that, but this same agenda is used to harm children’s futures, hamper their medical options, teach opinions as facts in public schools, and silence dissenters. Of particular concern, the federal Equality Act would bring this agenda nationwide.
We couldn’t stand idly by.
While our organizations have worked for years, both separately and together, to fight for families, we knew it was time for an even bigger response. It had to involve all the stakeholders, particularly parents and policymakers. We needed to join hands to send a message loud and clear that America does not stand for this radical agenda, and that our children deserve better.
And the Promise to America’s Children was born.
HOW WILL WE MEET THE NEED?
The Promise to America’s Children is intended to work primarily in two ways:

Speaking out to lawmakers.
We intend to share this message with lawmakers across America, and especially in Congress, to spread a positive vision for protecting our children — a contrast to the vision of using our children that exists in some policies today.

Activating parents and other concerned citizens.
Since parents are the first – and most passionate – gatekeepers of their children’s minds, bodies, and hearts, we knew they needed to understand what was happening and be empowered to take action.
